From December 4, 2015 until February 21, 2016, the Grand Palais is going to be host to the most important exhibition of this winter, “Volez, Voguez, Voyagez”, tracing the history of the iconic French designer Louis Vuitton.
This exhibition will trace the story of the Maison Louis Vuitton, from 1854 till nowadays, through portraits of its founders but also those who work on creating the future of the Maison Louis Vuitton.
Olivier Saillard, Commissioner General, immersed himself in the archives of the famous House to decipher its secrets and make a new vision of the past, present and future.
You will discover through the 9 rooms of the VIP Lounge of the Grand Palais the different works of art put together on the occasion to trace the extraordinary journey that started in 1854 by manufacturing a steamer trunk, and continues today on the catwalks of haute couture fashion shows.
Accessories, travel bags, as well as pieces of clothing will be put together all along the exhibition.
The exhibition will be enhanced by objects and documents from the Louis Vuitton Heritage and pieces loaned by the Musée Galliera.
“Volez, Voguez, Voyagez” is the story of one of the most beautiful French luxury fashion houses but also that of a man, a son of a carpenter originally from the Jura, who left his family at the age of 14 and was able to mark the world fashion scene.
