The Open Air Cinema Festival in Paris is on the event calendar of many film fans in the city. It is the perfect opportunity to head out to Parc de la Villette and watch a movie – for free – on a warm summer evening. Blankets and deckchairs are available for hire for those unable to bring their own.
Every year, the Open Air Cinema Festival has a specific theme. This year the organisers have gone with the title “Shall we sing?”. Therefore, visitors can look forward to a series of films with a musical theme. The list is pretty broad. There are musicals from across different decades, include the Beatles’ classic Yellow Submarine and recent hit La La Land. There are also short films and other special features including Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem from Daft Punk. As things stand, the festival aims to show a film almost every night from July 18th until August 19th. Keep an eye on the listings so you don’t miss out on your favourite.
