From September 15th through April 08th, 2018, the Petit Palais des Champs Elysées Paris is presenting to the public a magnificent selection of 150 pastels out of its collection which holds more than 200 pieces.

The exhibition which holds the title of “The Art of pastel from Degas to Redon” is an opportunity for you to see the Grand Palais’s outstanding paintings, including pieces by Auguste Renoir, Paul Gauguin, Edgar Degas, Berthe Morisot, and Mary Cassatt; along with many other renowned symbolist artists and society painters.

The pastel technique gave an opportunity to many artists to create many fascinating pieces in a great variety of styles. Visiting this exhibition will allow you to discover them and discover the challenges presented in conserving works created on paper that are sensitive to light.
