Spanish Costumes: Darkness and Light

Spanish Costumes: Darkness and Light

Until September 24th, 2017, the former house of the renowned French writer Victor Hugo will be hosting an important and wonderful selection of traditional Spanish costumes on loan from the Museo del Traje, in Madrid, Spain.

On this occasion, attendees will be able to admire some 40 costumes and accessories that show the skills and creativity of the craftsmen and craftswomen who made these pieces between the 18th century and the beginning of the 20th century.

The exhibit also covers a large selection of photographs taken by the Spanish photographer José Ortiz Echagüe (1886-1980), depicting the natural charm of the landscape in the region, the different monuments, as well as the locals and their rituals and customs.

Our hotels http://www.lesgrandshotelsparisiens.com/ are located at a very short distance from the Maison de Victor Hugo where the exhibition is taking place. So, try not to miss it! ;)

The exhibition is organized by Palais Galliera in partnership with the Museo del Traje, Madrid.
