At Chez Nicolas, both local residents and visitors to Paris come together to enjoy a fine glass of wine. This wine bar offers wine tastings, wine by the glass and bottle and fresh, traditional dishes to suit all tastes.
Nicolas is known by every person living in France as the neighborhood wine chain that supplies many Parisians with a variety of high quality wines. This year, the well-known chain is celebrating its 190th anniversary. To honor its long commitment to clients, it is integrating one of the hottest trends to hit Paris — the wine bar and restaurant — into its offering.
To do this, the company has completely renovated one of its boutiques, located at 24 Cour St-Emilion in the 12 arrondissement. In fact, this boutique has undergone a complete transformation as part of its journey from "Nicolas" to "Chez Nicolas" — what used to be a simple wine boutique is now a full-scale wine bar and restaurant. This transition brings the addition of a new menu as well as changes in the service and decor.
Now, wine connoisseurs can sit at the counter of Chez Nicolas and select one of three daily dishes, which incorporate fresh, in-season ingredients. The staff then recommends wine pairings with the help of illustrated menus. Patrons have the choice of wines in all styles: strong, full, mild, earthy, fruity, dry, sweet — you name it. Of course, these variations come in either red, white, rosé or sparkling. Nicolas boutiques are known for giving helpful pairing suggestions, and visitors now have the chance to experience this expert advice as they try traditional French cuisine.
In addition to the inside counter, patrons can also sit on the two terraces that are open all summer, making the experience even more enjoyable for guests staying at one of the Grands Hotels Parisiens.
