POP ART - Icons that matter

From September 22nd,2017 until January 21st, 2018, the Musée Maillol puts on exhibition, the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.

Started by the prominent American sculptor and art collector, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney (1875-1942), the collection includes some of the most wonderful pieces of Pop Art which were created by famous art figures.

On this occasion, more than 60 works will be shown to the public. A diverse selection that varies from paintings to sculptures and prints awaits you. So, don’t miss it!

You will get the chance to see masterpieces by artists who were and still are known worldwide such as Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Claes Oldenburg, James Rosenquist, Alex Katz, Jim Dine and Roy Lichtenstein. Added to these grand names, other figures who are less known in France will also be present through some of their best pieces, among them, George Segal, May Stevens, Rosalyn Drexler, and John Wesley.
