Situated in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, until August 21, 2016, the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris will be opening an exhibition under the title Paula Modersohn-Becker.
Devoted to the German painter with the same name, this exhibition is considered the first monographic exhibition dedicated to this renowned modernist artist in France.
Born on February 8, 1876, in Friedrichstadt, a neighborhood in central Dresden, Germany, Becker is actually labeled as a key figure in the early Expressionist modernist art movement, which started to develop in the early 20th century.
Paula Modersohn-Becker at the Musée d’Art Moderne features more than 100 paintings as well as drawings.
Attendees will also discover amazing self-portraits that reveal a natural femininity and a pure sensuality.
The exhibition Paula Modersohn-Becker is curated by Julia Garimorth.
Paula Modersohn-Becker is not too far from our hotel, Les Grands Hotels Parisiens.
