The night of 16 May, museums will be transformed to scenes of meetings, performances, readings, workshops, concerts and walks ...
Created in 2005 by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Night of museums is an opportunity for museums of France and Europe to unite all the public around their collections at a special night.
Different types of collections: ancient, modern and contemporary archeology, decorative and applied arts, photography, science and technology, civil and military history, ethnology, rural and industrial heritage will be highlighted for the occasion.
Exhibitions, concerts, shows, tours ... In all participating cities, animations mark this very special evening. Museum Night is for all lovers of culture who wish to visit or re-visit their favorite museum without paying until sometimes late into the night.
The 11th edition of the European Night of Museums will take place Saturday, May 16, 2015. In 2012, over 2,000 museums participated throughout Europe. In 2013, 166 Parisian establishments had taken part. In 2014, over 2 million people had answered the call throughout Europe.
This rendez-vous is a unique opportunity for new audiences - especially young people - to discover the course of an evening, the richness and variety of museums.
Guests staying at one of Les Grands Hotels Parisiens and who are into all kinds of exhibitions and collections, can join the whole European community which celebrates a whole night of museums. Many Parisian museums and cultural centers will be part of this 11th edition. So, do not miss it, especially that it is for free!
