The artist El Greco is one that is a major icon of the 16th century thanks to his influence on the Spanish School, his work at the time challenged genres and tested ideas of what he and those learning from him should create.
Artists continued to revisit and reevaluate his work long after his death into the 18th century and beyond. Today, there is just as much reason to take another look at his work and his influence on the art world.
Many people visit galleries casually that won’t be too aware of the style of his work and the narratives created. This new showcase at Le Grand Palais is a chance to correct that with a wide selection of works brought together in collaboration with the Art Institute Chicago.
Make the most of this unusual Greco exhibition until the 10th of February 2020 to learn more about the man and his creations.
