Until October 23rd, 2016, Palais Galliera Paris will be displaying an exceptional exhibition that draws attention to the history of fashion starting from the 18th century up until today.
Entitled Anatomy of a Collection, the exhibition holds a set of more than a hundred items including garments as well as accessories.
Many of the pieces on view were, in fact, the property of some famous historic figures. Among them, Napoleon’s waistcoat, Marie-Antoinette’s corset, the Dauphin’s suit, and Gala Dali’s shoe-hat.
Others, however, were worn by ordinary people, but chosen for the fact that they are actually linked to some of the most important periods in history, such as a blouse of a First World War nurse.
The exhibition also presents rare items created by leading fashion designers.
Anatomy of a Collection is curated by Olivier Saillard, the director of the Palais Galliera.
If you're staying at Les Grands Hotels Parisiens, don't forget to pass by the Palais Galliera.
