A Lively Carnaval Celebration in Paris

The Carnaval de Paris is coming to Paris in February, so guests staying at one of the Grands Hôtels Parisiens can take the opportunity to experience this unique and joyful event. On Sunday, February 10, 2013, Parisian inhabitants celebrate the 16th edition of their Carnaval, a large parade in which participants get dressed up to march through the streets of the City of Light.

This year, the theme is 'The World of Toys,' which will delight the little ones and give participants a great excuse to get in touch with their childhoods. Those who want to walk in the parade are invited to congregate at the Place Gambetta in the 20th arrondissement at 1 p.m. The parade will begin at 2 p.m., as participants walk through the Belleville area as well as Place de la République.

The parade is expected to finish around 7 p.m., meaning that participants are in for a whole day of fun. For those who just wish to watch instead of walk, the parade will be able to be seen from the 20th, 10th, 11th, 3rd and 4th arrondissements. Those who want to add their own special touch to the parade are invited to the Théâtre aux Mains Nues, a theater where the giant puppets that displayed for the parade are decorated. In this way, visitors can help to make sure that the Carnaval puppets look their best.

In addition the the 'World of Toys' parade, another parade is set to take off from Place du Châtelet on February 10 at 3 p.m. This parade is queen-themed, inviting women to dress up as queens and men to dress up as women.

No matter which parade you see or participate in, February 10th is sure to be a lively day for visitors and inhabitants of Paris.
