A Legend of Equestrian Shows Connects with Film Fans

Starting November 12, 2013, a special project launched by an equestrian theater called Zingaro will honor decades of artistic creation by Bartabas. Bartabas, whose birth name is Clément Marty, is a performer, horse trainer, filmmaker and the director of Zingaro. He has been responsible for successful equestrian shows across the globe — from Istanbul to New York to Tokyo to Hong Kong — since the creation of the performance troupe in 1985.

The performance company Zingaro even has its own theater in the Parisian area, where it performs shows that are also performed on tour around the world. Within the Zingaro theater is a restaurant that was established in 1997. Entirely decorated with costumes and accessories from old equestrian shows, this restaurant provides a unique atmosphere for both visitors and residents of Paris to discover.

It is at this restaurant where a series of films created by the artist and troupe director Bartabas will be shown from November 12 until December 24, 2013. On selected dates throughout this period, a new film will be shown, starting with Cabaret Equestre, created between 1984 and 1990, and going in chronological order until the last film — 2010's Darshan — is revealed on the 24th of December. Making these nights even more extraordinary is a dinner menu specially conceived for each showing in order to fit the theme of the film.

Guests staying at one of the Grands Hôtels Parisiens can check out this event during their trip to the City of Light. Cinema tickets, which include dinner, are 25 euros and can be purchased online. Guests who wish to see an actual equestrian show live can also purchase tickets for the troupe's latest show: Calacas.
