A Citywide Nature Festival Showcases Paris in Full Bloom
Spring is a magical time for those lucky enough to be in Paris. Residents and visitors alike are out in droves enjoying the scenery, getting active or simply enjoying a coffee on an outdoor terrace. To celebrate the arrival of spring, the Fête de la Nature (Festival of Nature) is organized every year permitting people to take advantage of the City of Light's green offerings.

The festival comprises five days of free activities and demonstrations that will make visitors appreciate the joys of nature. This year, the organizers have chosen the theme 'Wild Grass, Sprouts and Old Branches" to represent the activities planned from May 21 until May 25, 2014. The emphasis will therefore be on untamed nature and wild plants, with activities such as botany tours, sense discovery sessions, scientific inventories, journeys into wooded areas, "land art" sessions, cooking workshops, and even workshops where participants learn how to make natural cosmetics.

Guests staying at one of the Grands Hôtels Parisiens can take part in the festivities during their stay in Paris. With rooms that are centrally located, the Grands Hôtels enables guests to participate in activities taking place throughout the city. From the Parc de Bercy in the 12th arrondissement to the Jardin des Plantes in the 5th arrondissement, a variety of green spaces will be involved in the festival.

At the Jardin des Plantes, for example, visitors can discover the beautiful garden that contains a zoo, a greenhouse and several museums. Special festival activities are planned there on May 24 and 25. As a result, visitors can explore Paris in a whole new way by getting closer to the city's natural side.
